ADICA Organizes Training on WASP-IV for Electric Utilities in Malaysia, Indonesia, and Japan
Training Course on Generation Expansion Planning Using WASP-IV 19-30 August 2002, Seremban, Malaysia
Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) enlisted the services of ADICA Consulting to organize an “Intensive Training Courseon Generation Expansion Planning Using WASP-IV”, held at the Allson Klana Resort, in Seremban, Malaysia, during 19-30 August 2002.
The objectives of the training course were to:
• Expose planners to concepts, techniques and activities related to generation expansion planning, and enhance the competency of planners’ modeling skills and capability to conduct generation planning studies using the Wein Automatic System Planning Package (WASP-IV)
TNB’s willingness to open the course for participation by experts from Indonesia (PLN) and Japan (Chubu Electric) was greatly appreciated by the participating institutions and provided an opportunity to exchange experience on what problems different countries face regarding electricity system operation & planning and howthey might be addressed.
A total of twenty two experts from the following institutions participated in this training event:• Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB), Malaysia
• Sarawak Electricity Supply Corporation, Malaysia"
• Sabah Electricity Sdn.Bhd., Malaysia
• Energy Commission, Malaysia
• Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN), Indonesia
• Chubu Electric Power Co., Japan
