ADICA CEO Chairs Executive Forum on Revolutionizing the Smart Grid
ADICA CEO Chairs Executive Forum on Revolutionizing the Smart Grid
When opening the Smart Grid Executive Forum, in California, ADICA CEO Bruce Hamilton noted that “The energy industry is at a tipping point – facing a paradigm shift in the way that electricity is produced, delivered and used.”
Active Communications International selected ADICA CEO Bruce Hamilton to be Chair Person for their Executive Forum on Revolutionizing the Smart Grid. The Smart Grid Forum was held in La Jolla, California, during May 19-21, with participation of regulators (CEC), utilities (SCE, Austin Energy, Georgia Power, SMUD), visionaries (Kurt Yeager, Galvin Electricity Institute) and solution providers (ADICA, American Superconductor, Horizon Energy, SAIC, Trilliant, Ventyx).
Speakers discussed Smart Grid from a wide range of perspectives: Policy, technology, standards, transmission & distribution, renewables, battery technology, transportation, security, legal, IT, marketing programs, customer behavior, and software solutions.
Many of the presentations highlighted needs that can be met by ADICA’s agent-based strategic analysis software, e.g., assessing the likely impact of smart grid investments, and making informed operation and policy decisions in a smart grid environment that increases the number of decision makers from one (utility) or 10-20,000 (power plant suppliers); to 500,000 or more “prosumers” (consumers that can reduce consumption in response to demand response programs, and/or provide electricity back to the grid from renewable or battery technology).
