Fichtner to use ADICA’s Smart Market® Solution - GTMax
Oak Brook, IL - May 1, 2008 (News Release)
ADICA, an industry leader in providing Smart Market® business solutions and decision support to energy companies worldwide, announced today that Fichtner GmbH & Co has chosen its Generation and Transmission Maximization (GTMax) software.
GTMax optimizes the operation of the generation and transmission system and analyzes regional interconnections. The software helps generation companies and utilities maximize the value of their system assets, taking into account firm and non-firm contracts, independent power producer (IPP) agreements, bulk power transaction opportunities, and limitations of energy and transmission resources.
GTMax is also applied in support of regional projects conducted for international banks and development agencies. In a study conducted for the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), the software provided valuable insights in identifying projected trades between regional market hubs in Southeast Europe, market clearing prices across the regional network, economic benefits of regional trading, economic impacts on individual countries, companies, and consumers, and the role of hydropower in the future regional electricity market.
