Fraunhofer Institute notes “remarkable” aspects of EMCAS agent-based software for simulating electricity markets

In a Working Paper on Sustainability and Innovation, Fraunhofer ISI provides an overview of the current work applying agent-based simulation to the analysis of electricity markets. The authors note that liberalisation, climate policy and promotion of renewable energy are challenges to electricity market participants and policy makers, and point to agent-based simulation as a promising approach for decision-making support.
