ADICA Establishes Strategic Alliance with the Korean Research Center for Innovative Electricity Market Technology
On December 9, 2002, the Korean government formed the Research Center for Innovative Electricity Market Technology (IEMT) with the objectives to produce innovative technology for analysis of electricity markets and create an educational curriculum to develop a qualified workforce to support the analytical needs of an evolving electricity market in Korea. ADICA Consulting’s President and CEO, Bruce Hamilton, was appointed to serve on the three-member advisory committee for IEMT.
In January 2003, ADICA and IEMT formed a Strategic Alliance under which the two firms agree to work together in customizing and distributing ADICA’s cutting-edge analysis software for use by government entities and private companies in Korea. To facilitate the transfer of ADICA’s Generation and Transmission Maximization Program (GTMax) to local firms, IEMT is working to translate the GTMax Users Manual into the Korean language.
In February 2003, IEMT staff assisted ADICA in organizing a three-week training course on the use of the WASP-IV and GTMax models for long term resource planning in liberalized electricity systems for the Philippine Department of Energy.
