EMCAS Educational Version is used by Universities in Asia, Europe, Latin America, and the United States

ADICA would like to help university students obtain a deeper understanding of electricity markets through the use of innovative agent-based modeling software created by Argonne National Laboratory. For this reason, in 2007, we released an educational version of the Electricity Market Complex Adaptive System (EMCAS) software.

EMCAS enables users to simulate complex interactions between electricity market participants and to analyze the impact of alternative market rules. To facilitate use of the software in hands-on exercises, the educational version of EMCAS is distributed together with three sample cases:

Case 1 is based on a 6-node network
Case 2 is based on a modified IEEE 14-bus system
Case 3 is an 11-node network used at Argonne's international training courses

In recent months, the software was licensed for use at universities in Asia, Europe, Latin America, and the United States.
