Special University Offer for ENPEP Energy & Environmental Analysis Software
|
ADICA Consulting would like to give university students an opportunity to perform hands-on exercises with the same tool industry professionals use to analyze complex energy and environmental issues. For this reason, we intend to award a free ENPEP for Windows license to five (5) universities. This award includes a perpetual university license for the ENPEP software, along with copies of the ENPEP User's Manual, presentations used at a 3-week ENPEP training course, and a guidebook on "Greenhouse Gas Mitigation using ENPEP."
The Energy and Power Evaluation Program (ENPEP for Windows) is utilized for energy/environmental policy analysis and GHG mitigation assessment in over 70 countries. One of the strengths of ENPEP for Windows is the market-based approach the model employs to determine the response of various segments of the energy system to changes in government policies, energy prices, and demand. The model also has a powerful graphical user interface that allows the user to develop a network representation of their national energy system on a personal computer.
Earlier this year, an independent consulting firm completed an evaluation of energy planning tools for the European Union and recommended ENPEP as the “Tool of Choice” for energy planning under the Euro-Mediterranean Energy Forum. Adica staff has worked with Argonne National Laboratory, the Asian Development Bank, the International Atomic Energy Agency, the United States Department of Energy, and the World Bank to implement ENPEP in Africa, Asia & the South Pacific, Europe, South America, and the Middle East. Under recent projects funded by the World Bank, ENPEP was used to conduct an energy and environmental review for Bulgaria, develop a long-term energy strategy for Romania, and analyze carbon credits in the Slovak Republic. The figure below points to recent ENPEP studies in Europe and Asia.
