ADICA Launches International Collaboration Program on Distributed Energy Resources
International Collaboration Program on Distributed Energy Resources
On October 23rd of 2008, ADICA launched an International Collaboration Program to Strengthen Planning, Analysis, and Implementation of Distributed Energy Resources (ICP‑DER). The major objectives of this international collaboration program are to:
- Develop human resources for planning and policy-making support for expanded use of DER, which encompass demand response, distributed generation, and energy efficiency.
- Facilitate cooperation and business relations with research institutes, federal and regional organizations, universities, and technology vendors renowned in the planning, analysis, and implementation of distributed resources.
To realize this purpose, ICP-DER members collaborate on the following research topics:
- Review and participate in ongoing distributed resource research in the U.S.
- Review and document distributed resource technologies, programs, and policies in U.S. electricity markets
- Develop, adapt, and apply software for analyzing distributed resource options
- Provide recommendations in support of distributed resource policy-making.
The Project Launching Meeting was attended by Korea Power Exchange CEO Il-Hwan OH, together with representatives from ADICA, Argonne National Laboratory, and the University of Chicago’s Harris School of Public Policy.
