Smart Grid Workforce Development Training between Korea and Illinois
On July 21, 2010 the Korea
Electrical Engineering & Science Research Institute (“KESRI”), the Illinois
Institute of Technology (“IIT”) and ADICA, LLC signed a formal agreement to
jointly lead an effort to develop a well-trained and highly skilled workforce
for deploying Smart Grid tested technology and business models in the Republic
of Korea and the State of Illinois.

KESRI, IIT and ADICA
seek to build a strong collaborative and strategic partnership for Smart Grid
Workforce Development Training. Initial
efforts will focus on:
(1)
Assessment of Training Needs for the Korean Smart Grid Workforce in Illinois;
(2)
Development of Smart Grid Workforce Training Programs; and
(3)
Deployment of Smart Grid Workforce Training Programs.
This MOU is in line
with the collaboration agreement originated between the Presidents of the
United States and South Korea, expressing the intention to work together
in a range of areas related to Smart Grid policy, research & development,
testing and deployment.
